After having been around the Vatican City, I feel like I've completed a pilgrimage and my life is now complete. If Rome is a perfect slice of cake, the Vatican is the cherry on top. I've only read about and watched movies about this fascinating, sovereign state and its quirks. Never have I thought I would get the chance to see it in person at such a young age... And now that I know a fairly good amount of history behind it, I'm more in awe than I was before. The combination of astonishing architecture, art, wondrous history, sanctity and even mystery of the place is what makes it stand out from all other places of worship and touristic sites. This is as good as visiting Jesus' birth place, in my opinion, if not more.
As for the Colosseum, it's yet another piece of mind-blowing architecture, not to mention it is officially one of the wonders of the world. I could feel centuries worth of Ancient Roman energy seeping through its walls.
Now for the attire - this is yet another of my "less is more" approach. You're required to dress conservatively in a place of worship, hence, the long skirt and covered shoulders. The light, silk Margiela skirt is the highlight of the outfit, and the cardigan, top and sandals compliment the ensemble. Navy blue and beige is a practical, yet, elegant colour combination. I should have added a jesus piece or two but overall, I think I managed to successfully achieve the nunlike look... heh-hehe. What do you think?
